Montgomery, Alabama (June 18, 2007) -
Alfa Corp. and the Alfa Insurance Group today announced the
appointment of John C. Pace, 43, as president of The Vision
Insurance Group, LLC (Vision), a full service managing general
agency headquartered in Brentwood, Tenn. Pace joined the company
in 2004 in the Product Development Department and was promoted
to Vice President of Underwriting in 2005. In this new role,
he will oversee the non-standard automobile operations administered
through Vision. Vision, a wholly owned subsidiary of Alfa
Corp., currently distributes its products through over 4,000
independent agents in nine states.
Pace replaces John Russell, who founded Vision in 1997 and
continued to manage the company after its acquisition by Alfa
in 2005. Russell will remain affiliated with Vision in an
advisory capacity through the remainder of 2007.
"John is an excellent choice to oversee our non-standard
automobile operations," said Jerry A. Newby, Chairman,
President and Chief Executive Officer of Alfa. "He has
a proven track record of success in the independent agency
arena and extensive experience in the non-standard auto market.
John's background has prepared him for this role and will
preserve the continuity of this strong management team. I
am confident his broad base of industry knowledge will enable
us to build upon prior successes at Vision."
Pace is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University.
Prior to joining Alfa, he was affiliated with Direct General
Corp.
