Jimmy Parnell, Alfa President and CEO
Jimmy Parnell, Alfa President and CEO
Parnell is a native of Stanton, Ala., and a graduate of Auburn University in agricultural business and economics. He served on Alfa’s board of directors from 1999-2008; was chairman of the Alabama Farmers Federation Young Farmers State Committee in 1997; and was president of the Chilton County Farmers Federation from 2006-2012. In 1999, he and his family were named Alabama’s Outstanding Young Farm Family.

Parnell is a fifth-generation farmer and a partner in his family’s beef cattle farm and timber business. In 2006, the Alabama Forestry Association named him Alabama Logger of the Year. He has served in numerous leadership roles for business, environmental, agricultural organizations that include Central Alabama Farmers Co-op board of directors, Chilton County Water Authority, Chilton County Soil and Water Conservation District, National Cattlemen Beef Association and the Alabama Forest Fund. In 2015, Yellowhammer News named Parnell one of Alabama's most powerful and influential leaders.

He and his wife, Robin, have two children, James Robert and Anna Grace. They attend Hillcrest Baptist Church in Maplesville.

Al Dees, Executive Vice President, Marketing
A 44-year veteran of the insurance industry, Dees began his career with Florida Farm Bureau Insurance as a claims adjuster. He later worked for American Educators Life Insurance Co. and Horace Mann Insurance Companies before joining Alfa in 1984 as a regional sales manager. He served as the companies' Chief Marketing Officer from 1992 to 2000 and later joined MetLife Auto and Home Insurance as a National Sales and Marketing Manager. He was named Alfa's Executive Vice President of Marketing in 2013. A native of Evergreen, Ala. Al holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and business administration from Troy University. 
   
Stephen G. Rutledge, Executive Vice President, Operations
Stephen G. Rutledge, Executive Vice President, Operations
Rutledge has more than 30 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, and was promoted to his current position in 2012. He served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Investment Officer from 1999 to 2010, was promoted to Executive Vice President, Business Development in 2010, and Executive Vice President Marketing and Business Development in 2011. Rutledge joined Alfa Companies in 1984 as a securities analyst and portfolio manager in the Investment Department, and was promoted to Vice President of Portfolio Management in 1991. Prior to Alfa Companies, he was a senior accountant with Ernst & Young, specializing in the audits of financial institutions. Rutledge is a graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in accounting and is a CPA.

David Christenberry, Senior Vice President, South Alabama Marketing
A native of Fayette, Ala., and an Auburn University graduate, Christenberry joined Alfa in 1977 as an agent. He became a district manager in 1978 and achieved recognition in the company's President's Club 17 times. As evidence of his hard work and dedication, Christenberry has qualified for 60 Alfa All Star and Super Star trips and was inducted as a charter member of the prestigious Alfa Hall of Fame in 1996. Christenberry is past president of both the Central Alabama chapter of NAIFA and the Central Alabama chapter of the General Agents and Managers Association. 
   

Angela L. Bradwell, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Bradwell joined Alfa’s legal team in 1997 as Assistant General Counsel and was promoted to Vice President, Associate General Counsel in 2005. Bradwell was formerly employed with KinderCare Learning Centers, Inc., as Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary. Prior to KinderCare, Bradwell was in private practice with the law firm of Parnell, Crum & Anderson in Montgomery. Bradwell is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Law, and was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 1991 and the Alabama Bar in 1992. Her undergraduate degree is in Business, also from the University of Mississippi. Bradwell has legal experience in corporate governance and compliance, human resources, real estate, transactional, mergers & acquisitions, litigation, and regulatory law.
   
 Tommy Coshatt, Senior Vice President, Underwriting Tommy Coshatt, Senior Vice President, Underwriting
A graduate of Auburn University with an undergraduate degree in business administration, Tommy holds a master's degree in public administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He began his career with Alfa as an agent in Hoover, Ala., in 2006 and was promoted to district manager in 2009. He served as vice president for south Alabama sales from December 2011 to March 2013. During his tenure with Alfa, Tommy has qualified for eight Super Star Awards, seven All Star Awards, four Mega Star Awards and was the 2007 Rookie of the Year.

Prior to joining the Alfa team, Tommy was Manager of Claims Processing for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama for three years. He also served as Director of Human Resources for the Birmingham chapter of American Red Cross for six years and was Director of Disaster Services for one year.
   
Mark Evans, Senior Vice President, Mississippi Marketing Mark Evans, Senior Vice President, Mississippi Marketing
A native of Columbus, Miss., Evans studied business at Mississippi State University. He joined the Alfa marketing team in 1987 as an agent and was promoted to district sales manager in 1998. In 2010, he was promoted to vice president for Mississippi sales and development, and named regional vice president in 2013. Evans is a four-time member of Alfa's President's Club and was District Manager of the Year for Georgia and Mississippi in 2009. 
   
Scott Forrest, Senior Vice President, Human Resources Scott Forrest, Executive Vice President of Administration
Forrest began his career with Alfa in 1992 as a tax specialist. He was promoted to manager of Compensation in 1995 and named vice president of Compensation, Benefits and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) in 2001. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Mississippi State University, and a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Alabama. His professional certifications include Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Alabama and Senior Professional, Human Resources (SPHR) from the Society of Human Resource Management. He also holds the designation of Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. 
   
Carol Golsan, Senior Vice President, Marketing Services Carol Golsan, Senior Vice President, Marketing Services
Golsan has more than 30 years of experience with Alfa and started in 1981 as an information technician. She has held the positions of life processing supervisor, conservation specialist, Marketing Administration director and vice president. Golsan has a bachelor's degree in marketing from Auburn University and is a graduate of Jones Law School. She holds an FLMI designation from LOMA and an LLIF designation from LIMRA International in conjunction with the Whorton School of Business/University of Pennsylvania. 
   
John Hemmings, Senior Vice President, Investments John Hemmings, Senior Vice President, Investments
Hemmings joined Alfa in 1999 as a fixed income portfolio manager and was promoted to vice president of investments in 2006. In 2011, he was named to his current position. Prior to joining Alfa, Hemmings worked with Wachovia Securities in Charlotte, N.C., as a vice president and fixed income strategist. Hemmings is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he earned a bachelor's degree in finance and economics. He has served on the board of directors for Goodwill Industries and Easter Seals. 
   
Bryan Hubbard, Senior Vice President, Claims
Hubbard began his career with Alfa in 1989 as an adjuster and was promoted to district claims manager in 1999. He most recently served as vice president of Claims, a role he's held since 2012. Hubbard earned a degree in finance from Troy University, where he was a member of the 1984 and 1987 National Championship football teams. He holds a juris doctorate from Birmingham School of Law.
   
Darrell McNeal, Senior Vice President, Georgia Marketing Darrell McNeal, Senior Vice President, Georgia Marketing
A native of Cullman, Ala., McNeal now lives in Woodstock, Ga., where he heads Alfa's marketing operations for the state of Georgia. He earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. McNeal was hired as an agent in 1986 and was promoted to district manager in 1990 before being named a vice president in 1998. He holds the LUTCF, LLIF, CLF designations and has earned numerous awards and incentives for sales achievement.

Pace joined Alfa in 2005 in their Brentwood, Tenn. operations, he was promoted to President of Alfa Vision and Specialty in 2007 and to his current position in 2011. Prior to joining Alfa, Pace held a variety of insurance operational positions over an 11 year period with Direct General Corp. based in Nashville, Tenn. Pace is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor's degree in Finance.

Robison joined the company in 1979 and was promoted to his current position in 2012. Prior to his promotion, he served as Alfa's senior vice president of life and loan operations and vice president of Business Systems and Development. He has also worked as a programming supervisor and systems manager during his Alfa career. Robison holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Huntingdon College and an MBA from Auburn University Montgomery.
   
Mike Rowell, Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer  Mike Rowell, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer
A native of Montgomery, Rowell joined Alfa in 1995 and has served as Tax Manager, Vice President of Corporate Development and Vice President of Business Development. Over the past 21 years, his responsibilities, experience and foresight have helped propel the company from a three-state operation to one that serves customers in 11 states. Before joining the team, Rowell earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama and a master’s degree in tax accounting from Georgia State University. Additionally, he is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Alabama. Rowell and his wife, Brenda, live in Montgomery and have three children, Taylor, Katherine and Sam. The Rowells attend First Baptist Church, where Mike also serves as a deacon.

Sinco joined Alfa in 2005 as vice president of planning and analytics. He later was promoted to controller, where he provided leadership in implementation of debit and credit card payment options to enhance customer service. Sinco is responsible for Alfa's capital allocation and reinsurance strategies; tax compliance; credit arrangements; and regulatory and rating agency reporting. He previously worked 12 years in insurance-focused roles at Ernst and Young LLP, and American Safety Insurance. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Florida State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
   
Tim Timmons, Senior Vice President, North Alabama Marketing Tim Timmons, Senior Vice President, North Alabama Marketing
Timmons entered the insurance profession in 1984 and began his career with Alfa in 1987 as an agent. In 1988, he was promoted to district manager and served 25 years in this role. He was named among the top five managers in the company 10 times. In 2010, he was named Manager of the Year for the company and received the same honor in 2011 while also being inducted into the prestigious Alfa Hall of Fame. In March of 2013, Timmons was appointed as the Vice President of Marketing for North Alabama. He holds CLU and LUTCF designations, and is a graduate of Faulkner University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.
