Alfa Insurance Reponds To Early Morning Storms

Montgomery, Ala. (November 17, 2014) - Alfa Insurance® agents and adjusters are responding to claims from early morning storms that caused damage in several south Alabama counties.

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC), part of the National Weather Service, received reports of wind damage in Houston, Pike, Russell and Washington counties due to the Monday morning storms. Alfa representatives are also working claims in Crenshaw County.

Alfa has more than 100 claims adjusters ready to serve every county in the state. To file a claim for home or property damage, contact local Alfa service centers or call 1-800-964-2532. Claims may also be filed online at or through the Alfa2Go app for iPhone and Android smartphones.

While the severe weather threat is now over, temperatures across Alabama will drop well-below normal tonight and into tomorrow. Policyholders are encouraged to make temporary repairs to property to prevent additional damage. Retain receipts from purchases related to the temporary repairs to include with any claims.

Victims of disaster are prime targets for criminals, as insurance scams nationwide account for $30 billion in losses annually. Policyholders should be wary of unsolicited or unexpected offers to perform repairs or conduct inspections. Contact the Alabama Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection at 1-800-392-5658 with reports of suspected fraud, looting or price gauging.
