Rowell Named Chief Information Officer For Alfa Insurance
Montgomery, Ala. (April 21, 2016) - Alfa Insurance® Executive Vice President of Operations Steve Rutledge has announced the promotion of Mike Rowell to Chief Information Officer. Rowell most recently served as interim CIO, in addition to his role as Tax Manager and Vice President of Business Development.
Since joining Alfa in 1995, Rowell has served the company in a variety of capacities – each of which has helped propel the company from a three-state operation to one that serves customers in 11 states.
“For the past 21 years, Mike has helped strengthen our company through facilitating key acquisitions that accelerated Alfa’s growth in the industry,” Rutledge said. “He has consistently put the company first in each decision he’s made and role he has held, including his selfless willingness to serve the Alfa Companies in the capacity of interim Chief Information Officer the last nine months. Since taking on that additional responsibility, Mike has worked diligently to restore accountability and direction needed to facilitate the successful development and implementation of our new Guidewire software platform. His experience in business intelligence coupled with his background in product development will serve him well in this new role.”
Rowell is a graduate of the University of Alabama, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He later received an MBA in tax accounting from Georgia State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Alabama.
Rowell and his wife, Brenda, live in Montgomery and have three children, Taylor, Katherine and Sam. The Rowells attend First Baptist Church, where he also serves as a deacon.Back to Press Releases
