Alfa Insurance Receives Rick Heinzman Memorial Meals On Wheels Award
The Montgomery Area Council on Aging (MACOA) presented Alfa Insurance with the 2022 Rick Heinzman Memorial Meals On Wheels Award at its 28th annual Culinary Caper event April 10. The award, named in honor of MACOA’s former executive director, recognizes organizations who serve area senior citizens through the Meals on Wheels program.
Alfa’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel Angela Bradwell accepted the award on the company’s behalf.
“This program has a lasting impact on those it serves,” said Bradwell. “Our volunteers are dedicated to making a difference in our community. The Meals on Wheels program is an incredible opportunity for our team members to give back, and we are blessed to be a part of it. Alfa truly cares about the communities we serve, from providing quality insurance to supporting various philanthropic and educational initiatives. We’re proud to be part of the MACOA family.”
Celebrating the organization’s 50th anniversary, MACOA board members, volunteers and guests enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment and fellowship; food from some of the finest chefs in the River Region; and a raffle and online auction. Proceeds from the event will benefit MACOA as they continue to make a difference and serve more seniors throughout the community.
Alfa Insurance has been a Meals on Wheels Corporate Route Partner since 2015. Meals are prepared and packaged by Alfa’s cafeteria staff, then delivered by employees each Monday to ensure homebound seniors receive nutritious meals.

Our Alfa volunteers may be the only people our seniors see, making this relationship all the more special. All of us can attest that a meal can be much more than food on the plate, but also the company across the table.”
