Why do you need boat insurance?

Boats and other personal watercraft are fun! They’re also expensive and can be dangerous. Having boat insurance can protect you financially if your boat is damaged or you find yourself liable for damages to someone else or their property.

Not all states require boat insurance, but if you finance your boat or personal watercraft, you’re likely required to have it.

Discounts on watercraft insurance

It pays to be experienced. If you’re a previous boat owner and meet the qualifications, you may receive a discount on your watercraft insurance.

If you’ve successfully completed one of the eligible boating safety courses, you may qualify for a discount on your boat insurance premium. Ask your agent for a list of approved courses.
