Shannon Byrd

A Madison County native of the Big Cove Community, Shannon is no stranger to Jackson County, Alabama. For starters, he is a decent of old Jackson County families from Paint Rock Valley – the Hinshaws and the Jacks, and loves spending time in the Valley. In 1999, he moved to Higdon, atop North Sand Mountain, shortly before marrying the former Miss Kellie McKenzie, a 1999 graduate of North Sand Mountain High.

The couple would make their home beside of Dogwood Hills Golf Course for the next 17 years before returning to Madison County for a few years, where Shannon began his career with Alfa Insurance in 2000. In 2024, Shannon and Kellie returned to Jackson County, this time settling at Hytop on Cumberland Mountain, where they are members of the Hytop Free Holiness Church.

Shannon & Kellie are the parents of three daughters – Mackenzie (Guest), Makayla (White), and Maddie-Klaire Byrd, who is a student at Skyline High School. In 2025, they became the proud grandparents of Scarlett Jane Guest.

Shannon is now the owner of Shannon Byrd & Associates, LLC, in Hollywood, Alabama, where he is once again proud to be serving Jackson County and all of North Alabama. When he isn’t selling insurance, Shannon is actively involved with his church, spending time with his family, and writing gospel music and publishing songbooks.

In addition to Hollywood, Shannon is proud to also serve the Scottsboro, Owens Cross Roads, and Huntsville communities in Alabama, plus all North Alabama including the counties of Jackson, Madison, Marshall, and DeKalb.
